Fresno State Rolls Past Sacramento State, 6-1

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 62 Fresno State women's tennis continued its most recent win streak, increasing it to four with a 6-1 win over Sacramento State on Sunday at the Fig Garden Swim and Racquet Club.
The Bulldogs opened up by winning the doubles point with just two matches as twins Sophie and Anneka Watts won 8-3, before Tanya Murtagh and Sofya Malysheva grabbed an 8-4 win.
The Bulldogs began to roll in singles play, starting with Murtagh at No. 6 as she defeated Andie Mouzes with 6-0, 6-1. Anne Susdorf won at No. 5 over Daria Savchenko, 6-2, 6-3.
Sophie Watts and Rana Sherif Ahmed then won their matches with identical 6-3, 6-2 score lines. Maiar Sherif Ahmed picked up the last win of the day for the `Dogs as she defeated Deimante Bulatovaite, 6-2, 5-7, 10-6.
Fresno State will move back into Mountain West play for its next match as the team hosts No. 75 San Jose State. The dual match will begin at 12 p.m., PT, at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
