Moss Drafted in NPF Third Round

FRESNO, Calif.- Announced on Wednesday afternoon, Bulldog centerfielder Brenna Moss was selected as the thirteenth pick in the third round to the Chicago Bandits in the 2015 National Fast Pitch College Draft.
"This is everything I could have dreamed of as a softball player." Moss said. "I was so proud of myself for earning a scholarship to college and now this is more than I could have ever imagined. This is a once in a life time opportunity and I am so unbelievably blessed to go through this experience."
The Bakersfield, Calif., native was one of five players selected in the third round including elite athletes from Arizona State, Auburn, Cal Berkley and Purdue.
As Fresno State's leadoff batter, Moss is the first Bulldog to be drafted by the NPF since 2005 when pitcher Jamie Southern was selected in the first round to the Akron Racers.
During this year's NPF Draft, the Chicago Bandits choose the 2014 Collegiate Player of the Year, Lacey Waldrop (Florida State), AJ Andrews of LSU, Sammy Marshall of Western Illinois, Branndi Melero of Auburn and Stephany LaRosa from UCLA.
The NPF consists of five teams including the Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits, Dallas Charge, Pennsylvania Rebellion and USSSA Pride. The league's season will start May 24 and run through August 18 with the regular season lasting through August 11 and championship action beginning on August 14. The NPF was created to give elite fast pitch players an opportunity to pursue a professional career and has operated since 1997, formally named the Women's Pro Fast pitch (WPF) and Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL).
