`Dogs End Season with 13-6 Defeat at Denver

DENVER -- The Fresno State lacrosse team concluded its season on the road on Sunday afternoon, falling 13-6 to Denver at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Senior Marcy Levatino and sophomore Chelsea Hall led the Bulldogs with two goals each.
Denver opened up the game with a 2-0 lead on goals from Kiki Boone and Rachael McKinnon within the first seven minutes. Sophomore Caroline Dineen-Carlson got the `Dogs on the board with 17:27 on the clock to make it 2-1. The Pioneers responded with six unanswered goals within an eight-minute span, with three coming from Sarah Kasun.
Hall ended Denver's run with 4:17 to go in the half. Just over a minute later, Levatino cut the `Dogs deficit to 8-3. The Pioneers struck twice though before the end of the half through Boone and Nicole Martindale to regain its seven-goal advantage as they led 10-3 at the half.
Denver and Fresno State traded goals in the second half with both teams scoring three apiece. Levatino tallied her 24th of the season with at 16:50 to go. Hall scored her second of the game with 6:44 remaining and freshman Lindsay Hobson netted the game's final goal with under a minute to play.
The game marked the end of Levatino's career. The captain ended her career as the Bulldogs' all-time points leader with 95, 10 ahead of Kara Concheck's mark. She finished second in career goals with 71, two shy of Concheck's record. Her nine assists this season ranks as the second-most in a single season by a Bulldog.
With her 30th goal on Sunday, Dineen-Carlson finished the season with most goals in a season in program history. Her 32 points is the third-most in school history for a single season. Her 27 groundballs is the second most in a season as is her 36 draw controls wwhich is one shy of the school's single-season record.
