Bulldogs in fourth after day one of UOP Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Fresno State women's swimming team finished the first day of the University of the Pacific's Fall Invitational. San Jose State (340) is in first place after the first eight events of the invitational, followed by UOP (318) in second place and Air Force (312) in third. Fresno State (267) sits in fourth place edging out Fresno Pacific (228) in fifth.

Sophomore Ugne Mazutaityte finished first in the 200 Backstroke for the second consecutive time with a time of 2:01.80. Mazutaityte also finished second in the 100 Backstroke (58.61).Â

Senior Emma Monnich and junior Ally Short also placed in the top ten of the 100 Backstroke with a sixth place finish and a tenth place finish, respectively.

As for the 100 Breaststroke, freshman Manuela Mendolicchio took first place for the second consecutive meet with a time of 1:04.85.

The Bulldogs' 200 Medley Relay of Mazutaityte, Mendolicchio, Esme Gullick and Hannah Jarvis took sixth place with a time of 1:48.14. They were joined in the top ten by Kali Colon, Hailee Baldwin, Tarryn Rennis and Katelin Britton who placed ninth (1:51.77).

Freshman Natalia Nienaltowska (4:31.89) finished fourth in the 400 IM, followed by senior Esme Gullick (4:32.55) in fifth place and Hailee Baldwin (4:39.51) in tenth.

Junior Katelin Britton (1:56.18) and Natalia Nienaltowska (1:56.34) finished in the top ten of the 200 Freestyle for the Bulldogs.
