FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State women's swim team hosted a quad-meet in the Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon. Fresno Pacific, University of the Pacific and UC Santa Cruz competed in the meet. The meet was scored as a triple-dual meet. Fresno State defeated UOP 149-126 and defeated UCSC 245-39. Fresno State fell to FPU 152-141.
"We competed without our divers today and that hurt us," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "One of our swimmers stepped up and dove for us even though she's never dove in a meet before. We swam really well today but we just didn't get it done against FPU."
Freshman Claire Brooks was the lone diver for the Bulldogs, she placed third on the 1-Meter.
The Bulldogs were led by underclassmen Manuela Mendolicchio, Ugne Mazutaityte and Natalia Nienaltowska.
Freshman Manuela Mendolicchio remains undefeated in the 100 Breaststroke this season with a time of 1:03.05. She also remains undefeated in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:15.24. Mendolicchio led the Bulldogs in the 100 IM with a fifth place finish (1:00.50).
