Giglio anounces 2017 lacrosse captains

FRESNO, Calif. – Head coach Jessica Giglio announced that seniors Alex White, Caroline Dineen-Carlson, Chyna Hill and junior Abigail Bergevin will be the Fresno State lacrosse team captains for the 2016-2017 season.
"I'm excited to have these four young women lead our team for the 2016-2017 season, said Giglio. "Each one of our captains brings a uniqueness and they will work together to facilitate a winning culture while unifying and empowering our team."Â

#19 Alex White
Hometown: San Diego, Calif.
The senior attacker appeared in 12 games, starting six ... scored career-high two goals against Saint Mary's (April 24) during her junior season ... grabbed a career-high two ground balls in games against Colorado (Feb. 21), at Cal (April 3) and at UC Davis during her junior season... White came back from a season ending injury during her freshman season to appear in four games her sophomore season and scoring her first-career goal against Oregon.

"The opportunity to have a leadership role in my senior season has made my last year as a Bulldog so special, said White. "I look forward to being a role model for my teammates on and off the field."

#3 Caroline Dineen-Carlson
Hometown: Coronado, Calif.
The senior midfielder has started all 45 games of her career at Fresno State … she finished her junior season as the all-time leader in draw controls (112) … set the Fresno State single-season records in ground balls (30) and draw controls (45) … her 32 points, 26 goals, four hat tricks and 18 caused turnovers ranked second on the team and fourth-best all-time at Fresno State during her junior season … was named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week once during her junior season … holds a career-high six assists … was named to 2015 All-MPSF Second Team as a sophomore … in High School, Dineen-Carlson was named a national All-American her junior and senior year.
#1 Chyna Hill
Hometown: Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.
The redshirt senior started all 30 games of her career at Fresno State before sitting pur her junior season due to injury … finished her sophomore season second on the team in both ground balls (25) and caused turnovers (11) … grabbed a total of 12 draw controls during her sophomore season … during her freshman season she finished second on the team with 10 caused turnovers and fourth with 19 groundballs … In High School, Hill finished her career as an All-American.

#44 Abigail Bergevin
 Hometown: Lake Oswego, Ore.
Bergevin started all 15 games during her sophomore campaign … holds a career-high four goals, eight points, eight shots, 16 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers … As a freshman she started five of 11 games she appeared in … netted first career goal against USC in first game as a Bulldog … In High School, she was named to the Under Armor All-American Team.
The Bulldogs open up their 2017 season on the Fresno State Soccer and Lacrosse on Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. PT.
