Bulldogs men's XC earns USTFCCCA Team Academic Award

USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Teams
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's cross country team earned U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic team honors, the association announced on Friday.
"I am really proud that our men's team has once again been recognized by the USTFCCCA as an all-academic team," said head coach Sean McManus. "As a coaching staff, we try to teach our student-athletes the importance of putting forward your best effor in all that you do. This particular group of athletes does that every day, on and off the track, so it is great that our student-athletes to have that effort recognized by our national coaching body."
The 'Dogs posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.01 as they were one of 172 Divison I teams recognized for having a cumlative team GPA over 3.0. Senior Nathan Esparza, juniors Cooper Gill and Matt Kwiatkowski and sophomore Efren Reyes were also named Academic All-Mountain West by the conference on Feb. 11 for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
The Bulldogs were one of six Mountain West programs honored joining Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Jose State and Utah State.
The Syracuse men and the New Mexico women were honored as NCAA Division I Scholar Teams of the Year.
