'Dogs fall to No. 7 USC, 17-3

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team fell 17-3 to No. 7 USC on Thursday afternoon at the Fresno State Lacrosse Field. The Trojans were the third top 10 team the Bulldogs have faced in program history and the highest-ranked since then-No. 4 Florida in 2012.
USC (10-0, 4-0 MPSF) kept its program-best 10-game winning streak alive as 12 different players scored for the Trojans, led by Cynthia Del Core's three goals. USC entered the game as one of three undefeated teams in the country, including No. 1 Maryland and Cornell (RV).
Fresno State (3-8, 0-5 MPSF) was led offensively by senior Anjelica Fuccillo, sophomore Lindsay Hobson and junior captain Caroline Dineen-Carlson, who each scored a goal, and Ryleigh Bone notched her second assist of the season.
The Bulldogs won the draw control battle 12-9 as junior Kyleigh Westgarth grabbed a game-high four and freshman Sarah Bloise added three. Sophomore Nicole Ortlieb, senior captain Sophia Aragon and sophomore Logan Eisinger each grabbed three ground balls.
Redshirt junior Meganne Weissenfels and sophomore Natalie Chaffin split time protecting the net for the 'Dogs. Weissenfels played the first 25 minutes of the game and recorded three saves while allowing 11 goals while Chaffin capped the game off with six saves and six goals allowed.
