Bulldogs look to rebound against Cal on the road

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team hits the road to Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium on Sunday to face the California Golden Bears at 1 p.m. PT in Berkeley, Calif. The game will air live on the Pac-12 Networks.
Last year, the Bulldogs swiped their first-ever win against the Golden Bears, defeating them 11-10 at home after Lindsay Hobson scored the game-winning goal on a free-position shot with six seconds to go.
Cal is coming off a 15-5 home loss to Oregon on Friday while the 'Dogs look to rebound from Thursday's 17-3 loss against No. 7 USC. The Trojans were Fresno State's highest-ranked opponent since facing then-No. 4 Florida in 2012.

Bulldog Bites
- Fresno State has begun the season with the most assists per game (2.45), ground balls per game (19.00) and best goals-against average (12.04) in program history.
- After notching five caused turnovers on Thursday, giving her a total of 16 on the year, senior captain Sophia Aragon set a new Fresno State all-time record with 47 in her career, passing Krisdina Gehring (2009-11). Aragon also holds the program mark in career ground balls with 89.
- Junior captain Caroline Dineen-Carlson continues to hold the program record in all-time draw controls with 95, however junior Kyleigh Westgarth is only five shy of Dineen-Carlson. Westgarth's 33 draw controls this year are just five away from breaking the Fresno State single-season draw control record that Westgarth set her freshman year in 2014.
- Senior Anjelica Fuccillo is just three points shy of passing Marcy Levatino (2012-15) to become Fresno State's all-time points leader. Fuccillo is also three assists from tying Natalie Harrington (2010-13) as the program leader in that category.
- Sophomore Nicole Ortlieb has scored in nine of 11 games this season, including multiple goals in seven of them. Ortlieb leads Fresno State with 22 points (21 goals and one assist).
- Freshman Sarah Bloise leads the team with 47 shots and 37 shots on goal and is second on the team with 15 goals. Bloise has scored in eight of 11 games this year.
- Freshman Ryleigh Bone is the only Bulldog to record at least one point in each of the last four games. Dineen-Carlson and Fuccillo have notched at least one point in each of the last three games.
About the Golden Bears (3-7, 1-2 MPSF)
Cal is currently on a three-game losing streak, most recently falling to MPSF-foe Oregon 15-5 Friday. The Golden Bears have been defeated by three ranked teams this season in then-No. 5 Notre Dame (21-2), then-No. 12 USC (15-2) and then-No. 16 Ohio State (16-15 OT). In MPSF play, the Golden Bears defeated San Diego State 10-9 in overtime.
Cal is led offensively by junior Elizabeth Pallechi's 16 goals, followed by 14 a piece from sophomores Meredith Haggerty and Chloe Landry. Junior Jena Fritts leads the team with 16 assists.
On the defensive end, freshman Jenny Wilkens has protected the net in each of Cal's 10 games this season and owns a goals-against average of 14.32 and a .417 save percentage.
