'Dogs host No. 9 Stanford in MPSF matchup

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team hosts No. 9 Stanford on Friday at 5 p.m. PT at the Fresno State Lacrosse Field. This is the first time in program history that the Bulldogs will face two top 10 teams in the same season. Fresno State fell to then-No. 7 USC 17-3 on March 31.

Bulldog Bites
- Fresno State has begun the season with the most assists per game (2.58), shots per game (19.08), ground balls per game (18.58), best save percentage (.423) and best goals-against average (11.45) in program history.
- After sophomore Nicole Ortlieb scored seven goals against Cal on April 3 to give her a total of 28 on the year, she is now three goals shy of passing Caroline Dineen-Carlson for most goals by a Bulldog in a single season. She is also seven points away from owning the top single-season mark in points.
- Junior captain Caroline Dineen-Carlson continues to hold the program record in all-time draw controls with 98, however junior Kyleigh Westgarth is only six shy of Dineen-Carlson. Westgarth's 35 draw controls this year are just three away from breaking the Fresno State single-season draw control record that Westgarth set her freshman year in 2014.
- Senior Anjelica Fuccillo is just three points shy of passing Marcy Levatino (2012-15) to become Fresno State's all-time points leader. Fuccillo is also four assists from becoming the program leader in that category.
- Ortlieb has scored in 10 of 12 games this season, including multiple goals in eight of them. Ortlieb leads Fresno State with 29 points (28 goals and one assist), 50 shots and 41 shots on goal.
- Senior captain Sophia Aragon increased her all-time records with 90 ground balls and 47 caused turnovers. She is eight ground balls and 12 caused turnovers from the top single-season marks.
- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Meganne Weissenfels is wrapping up her Bulldog career as the program leader in wins (6), win percentage (.316), best save percentage (.428) and best goals-against average (11.77).
About the No. 9 Cardinal (10-2, 5-0 MPSF)
Stanford has defeated three top 20 opponents this season (No. 8 Penn State, No. 16 Ohio State, No. 19 Johns Hopkins) and has fallen to two (No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 14 Stony Brook). The Cardinal are second in the nation in draw controls per game (14.58) and fifth in free-position percentage (.557).
Stanford is led offensively by Kelsey Murray's 30 goals and 15 assists, while goalkeeper Allie DaCar has protected the cage with an MPSF-best .515 save percentage.
