Aragon and Dineen-Carlson named second-team All-MPSF

FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State women's lacrosse senior captain defender Sophia Aragon and junior captain midfielder Caroline Dineen-Carlson were named second-team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation by the league on Wednesday. This is the second-straight year that Dineen-Carlson has received this honor.
Aragon led the Bulldogs to their three best defensive performances in program history, allowing the fewest points, goals and assists in their respective games. She finished her final season as Fresno State's all-time leader in games started (58), ground balls (97), ground balls per game (1.64) and caused turnovers (56). She ranks third all-time with 0.95 caused turnovers per game.
This season, Aragon's 25 caused turnovers rank second-best in a single season at Fresno State and her 28 ground balls rank third. She also tied the Fresno State single-game record with six caused turnovers and scored her first career goal against Saint Mary's on April 24.
Dineen-Carlson led the Bulldogs to their best season in program history and finished her junior year as Fresno State's all-time leader in draw controls (112). This year, she led the team with Fresno State single-season records in ground balls (30) and draw controls (45). Her 32 points, 26 goals, four hat tricks and 18 caused turnovers rank second on the team and fourth-best all-time at Fresno State.
Dineen-Carlson was named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week after recording seven points (six goals and an assist) at Cal on April 3. She also tied the Fresno State single-game record with eight draw controls against Saint Mary's on April 24.
