FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State junior captain Caroline Dineen-Carlson has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games played March 28 through April 3, the MPSF announced Monday. Dineen Carlson is the first Bulldog in three years to receive this honor.
Dineen-Carlson notched eight points (seven goals, one assist), 12 shots, nine shots on goal, five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers last week, including a career-high six-goal performance on the road in the Bulldogs' second-ever win over Cal on Sunday.
In the game against the Golden Bears, Dineen-Carlson's seven points, six goals and 10 shots all rank second-best in a game in program history. She also scored a goal against No. 7 USC last Thursday.
Through the first 12 games of the season, Dineen-Carlson is second on the team with 18 goals, four assists, 22 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. She is currently Fresno State's all-time leader in draw controls and is third on the team this season with 31.
This is Dineen-Carlson's first career weekly accolade and she is the third Bulldog to receive a weekly honor this season. Freshman Sarah Bloise was named MPSF Rookie of the Week on Feb. 29 and redshirt junior Meganne Weissenfels was named MPSF Defensive Player of the Week on March 14.
Fresno State returns to action April 15 as it hosts No. 10 Stanford at the Fresno State Lacrosse Field at 5 p.m. PT.
