Fresno State named 2016 Fall CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's swimming and diving team earned recognition as a College Swimming and Diving Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team it was announced this week.
The Bulldogs had a 3.50 grade point average, the highest GPA the program has ever had. They were well over the 3.1 average of the CSCAA's fall award winners.
"It is an honor to be one of the Scholar All-America Teams," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "I'm so proud of my team. They work so hard in and out of the pool. This is a huge accomplishment for us."
To qualify as a CSCAA Scholar All-America team, the team must have had an average GPA greater than 3.0 during the 2016 fall semester.
Fresno State ranks 25th in Division I with their 3.50 GPA, tied with Princeton. The Bulldogs have the third highest GPA in the Mountain West behind Boise State (3.61) and Nevada (3.57). A total of nine Mountain West teams made the list of CSAA Scholar All-American Teams.
The Bulldogs return home this weekend, on Saturday Jan. 28 they will take on conference foe San Jose State at 12 p.m. PT and on Sunday Jan. 29 Fresno State will celebrate Senior Day at 12 p.m. PT against UC Davis.Â
