High school seniors Isaac Likekele and Efe Odigie join Division I transfers Noah Blackwell, Braxton Huggins and Eric Vila to add even more talent to a loaded 2018 recruiting class.
FRESNO, Calif. --- The future continues to be bright for the Fresno State men's basketball program as talented high school seniors Isaac Likekele and Efe Odigie have officially been added to the Bulldogs' 2018 recruiting class, head coach Rodney Terry announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Fresno State, who opens the 2017-18 regular season on Friday at 5 p.m., is one of eight schools in the West to have made back-to-back postseason appearances in the NCAA or NIT Tournament in each of the past two seasons. The Bulldogs went 20-13 last season and are once again projected to contend for a Mountain West championship.
Isaac Likekele, who is a 6-5, 195-pound guard out of Mansfield, Texas, is dynamic on both ends of the floor and expected to fit well into the Bulldogs' program.
"Isaac is a big and versatile guard, who can play multiple positions for us," Terry said. "He's a winner, and brings toughness and great character to our program. Isaac is also a really good student in the classroom and we are very excited that he is joining our program."
Efe Odigie, a 6-8, 240-pound forward/center from Pro-Vision Academy in Houston, Texas, will help Fresno State fill the void that will be opened by Terrell Carter II, who will be graduating after the 2017-18 season.
"We are also extremely excited about Efe," Terry said. "He is a rugged and physical paint player, who can score with his back to the basket. With Terrell graduating, Efe will have an opportunity to score, defend and rebound for us inside. He excels off the court, too. Efe is a wonderful student-athlete."
Both Likelike and Odigie will be eligible to compete as freshmen starting in the 2018-19 season. The two future freshmen in 2018 are currently part of a five-member recruiting class, which also features Division I transfers Noah Blackwell (Long Beach State), Braxton Huggins (New Mexico State) and Eric Vila (Texas A&M). The three Division I transfers are currently enrolled at Fresno State and practicing with the team while redshirting the 2017-18 season per NCAA guidelines.
Fresno State will tip off the regular season on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. PT when the Bulldogs host the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs. All veterans and active duty military get free admission to the Nov. 10 season and home opener with valid military ID on gameday at the Save Mart Center Box Office.
Lower bowl single-game tickets are on sale starting at $10, while a limited number of center section Arena Builder seats will be available on a single-game basis this season for $40 per seat in Sections 109, 110, 122 and 123.
Season ticket packages and mini-plans are currently on sale through the Bulldog Ticket Office at the northeast corner of the Save Mart Center or by calling 559-278-DOGS (and then pressing "1"). Season ticket packages start at $149 while six-game mini plans start as low as $78 and group outings available starting at $8 per ticket.
