’Dogs fall 15-4 at SMU, Harle earns MOP

Fresno State equestrian next faces No. 10 TCU on Saturday at 8 a.m. PT in Springtown, Texas
DALLAS, Texas – The No. 5 Fresno State equestrian team fell 15-4 to No. 6 SMU in Dallas, Texas on Friday. Sophomore Bulldog Taeya Harle earned an MOP for her performance in horsemanship, while sophomore Alexandra Dirickson, junior Rachel Williams and freshman Shea Gilson recorded points for the 'Dogs.
The Mustangs, who defeated Fresno State for the fourth time in program history, took four points each in equitation on the flat and equitation over fences, with Dirickson scoring the Bulldogs' lone hunt seat point with an 81-65 win.
SMU then outscored the 'Dogs 3-2 in horsemanship, with Harle (74.5-70.5) and Williams (70.5-67.5) garnering victories for Fresno State. Harle's MOP in the event was her first of the season. Finally, the Mustangs took the reining event 4-1 as Gilson scored a 69 over SMU's 60.
The Bulldogs next head to No. 10 TCU in Springtown, Texas on Saturday at 8 a.m. PT.
