Fresno State is currently tied for fifth place in the conference standings, while CSU is just a half game back of the MW lead. Fresno State returns home for a two-game homestand next week. The Bulldogs host SJSU on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. PT and New Mexico on Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. PT. Wainwright Turns 70 on Saturday
Fresno State associate head coach Jerry Wainwright will celebrate his 70th birthday on Saturday. Wainwright, a 16-year Division I head coaching veteran, is in his third season on head coach Rodney Terry's staff.

Jahmel Taylor: An elite 3-point shooter
Fresno State junior guard Jahmel Taylor is 10th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (65-for-141, 46.1 percent). He has made at least one 3-pointer in 22 of 24 games this season and at least one 3-pointer in 31 of his last 34 games played. Taylor has 16 games this season with multiple 3-pointers, including nine games with four or more 3-pointers. He made 11 consecutive 3-pointers in a three-game span in December, which was four shy of tying the national record of 15. Also, Taylor is 53rd in the nation in total 3-point field goals made (65) and ranks 61st in the nation in 3-point field goals made per game (2.71).
Hopkins surging as dynamic defender
Fresno State redshirt junior guard Jaron Hopkins has established himself as one of the premier defenders in the nation, especially in the West region, for disrupting passing lanes and scoring in transition. Hopkins has averaged a team-best 13.0 points, while also adding 5.5 rebounds, a team-high 3.7 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Hopkins, who played his first two seasons at Colorado, has played in all 24 games this season, with 18 starts.
Watson soars to 19th on all-time scoring list
Bulldogs' senior guard/forward Paul Watson - the 2013-14 Mountain West Freshman of the Year - gives Fresno State a versatile option on the wing and the post. Watson has played both positions during his career, primarily on the wing. Watson has 1,279 career points to rank 19th on the program's all-time scoring list and currently sits 18 points away from tying Chris Herren (1996-99) for 18th (1,297 career points).

In his sixth season at Fresno State, head coach Rodney Terry has 99 wins, which ranks fourth on the Bulldogs' all-time head coaching wins list.
