Bulldogs head into UEC Championships as No. 1 seed

The Fresno State equestrian team faces No. 4-seeded Delaware State on Friday at 7 a.m. PT
FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 6-ranked Fresno State equestrian team travels to Harrington, Delaware on Friday as the Bulldogs enter the first round of the United Equestrian Conference Championships, which will take place at the state fairgrounds and begins at 7 a.m. PT.

The No. 1-seeded 'Dogs (7-6, 4-1 UEC) are scheduled to face the host team, No. 4-seeded Delaware State on Friday. The winner of the competition will face the winner of the match between No. 2-seeded SMU and No. 3-seeded University of Tennessee-Martin.

The Bulldogs defeated Delaware State last October, 8-7, in Felton, Del., the same weekend that Fresno State took down No. 1-ranked Auburn. In 2015, the 'Dogs won the UEC Championship as the host team and did not compete in the tournament in 2016.

This season, the Bulldogs look to senior Taylor Brown for leadership in the Western events. Brown is 19-7 with 12 Most Outstanding Player accolades on the year. In the hunt seat, junior Kylina Chalack has been the strongest for the 'Dogs, earning 13 points and two MOPs this season.
