‘Dogs top Wolf Pack 5-2 on Senior Day

Stloukalova upsets No. 98 Claudia Herrero in straight sets.
FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team closed out its regular season on Saturday with a 5-2 win over Nevada at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. The Bulldogs head into the Mountain West Tournament next week with a 14-8 record.
After Olivia Noble and Katerina Stloukalova defeated Milena Achlamov and Carlijn Ketting, 6-0, to open doubles play, the Wolf Pack responded. Nevada grabbed a pair of 6-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 to win the doubles point and take the early advantage.
Fresno State senior Galina Bykova pulled the Bulldogs level early in singles action, ousting Adriana Gregelyova 6-3, 6-3. Stloukalova then claimed her second win over ranked in opponent in the past week as she knocked off No. 98 Claudia Herrero, 6-4, 6-4.
On Court 5, Georgia Lawson put the Bulldogs within a point of clinching the match as she defeated Ketting 6-3, 6-4 to give Fresno State a 3-1 lead. Sheila Morales then pulled the Wolf Pack back within one after topping Emma Wilson 7-6, 6-3 at the No. 2 position.
After dropping the first set 6-2, Juliane Triebe came back to win her match and clinch the dual win for the 'Dogs as she claimed the second and third sets 6-1, 6-4.
Ndindi Ndunda closed out the match for the Bulldogs, defeating Achlamov, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1, on Court 6.
