Fresno State lands IWLCA 2016-17 academic honors

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State lacrosse team was selected as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Squads for the 2016-17 academic year. Additionally, three Bulldogs earned IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll honors. The IWLCA announced the selections Wednesday morning.
308 teams across Division I, II, III and NAIA universities were named IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
The Fresno State lacrosse team earned a cumulative GPA of 3.311 for the 2016-17 academic year. The lacrosse team is made up of 29 student-athletes studying within 12 different majors at Fresno State.
Natalie Chaffin, Nady Hernandez and Alex White were named to the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.
The IWLCA honored 402 student-athletes from 102 different institutions on the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Alex White finished her career at Fresno State with a cumulative 3.973 GPA, earning her bachelor's degree in media, communications and journalism with an emphasis in broadcast this spring. Since graduation in May, White has begun her career as a news producer at ABC30 in Fresno.
Natalie Chaffin finished her junior year with a cumulative GPA of 3.854. Chaffin is pursuing her bachelor's degree in the competitive nursing program at Fresno State.
Naydy Hernandez finished her junior year with a cumulative GPA of 3.571. Hernandez is pursuing her bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science.
