Giglio announces 2019 lacrosse captains

FRESNO, Calif. – Head coach Jessica Giglio announced that senior attackers Sarah Bloise, Ryleigh Bone, Emily Lackey and Emily Miller will be the Fresno State lacrosse captains for the 2019 season. Each of the four 'Dogs saw action last season and will look to lead the team throughout this season.

#23 Sarah Bloise
Hometown: Davis, Calif.
Â
Bloise started all 18 games for Fresno State on the attack in 2018, and finished the season with a team-high 40 goals, 20 assists, 60 points and 88 shots. The Davis, Calif., native scored in 16 games for the Bulldogs, while also notching 13 multi-goal games. She recorded eight hat tricks during the season, had a season-high seven points against twice, scored a season-high four goals in three games, chalked a season-high four assists against St. Bonaventure (Feb. 27), was named the MPSF Offensive Player of the Week for games played March 26 through April 1 and was named to the 2018 All-MPSF Team. The senior will look to lead the 'Dogs on attack this season after compiling 96 goals, 48 assists and 144 points over the past three seasons.

#13 Ryleigh Bone
Hometown: Granite Bay, Calif.

Bone started 17 games on the attack for the Bulldogs in 2018, finishing the season with 22 goals, eight assists, 30 points, 23 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. The Granite Bay, Calif., native recorded three hat tricks on the season, had a season-high four points against Albany (March 17), grabbed a season-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers against (Feb. 16) and was also named to the 2018 MPSF All-Academic Team. The senior will aid the Bulldog attack this season after totaling 39 goals, 13 assists and 52 points over the last three years.

#29 Emily Lackey
Hometown: Trabuco Canyon, Calif.

Lackey saw action in two games for the Bulldogs in 2018 and recorded a draw control against No. 13 Stanford (April 8). The senior will look to help hold down the attack in 2019 with one goal and two assists for three points to date.

#27 Emily Miller
Hometown: Monument, Colo.
Â
Miller played in five games for Fresno State in 2018, finishing the season with one goal, three assists, four points and six shots. The Monument, Colo., native also grabbed two ground balls and three caused turnovers. The senior recorded a season-high game with one goal, two assists, three points and two draw controls in Fresno State's 21-3 win over Delaware State (March 14). Miller will contribute to the Bulldog attack throughout the 2019 season.

Fresno State will look to open the 2019 season in the early spring with the schedule being announced on a later date. All home matches will be played in the Fresno State Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking to all Fresno State lacrosse games are free of charge.
