Taylor Slover named MW Offensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After averaging 4.25 kills per set over two matches Fresno State senior outside hitter Taylor Slover has been selected as the MW Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The award is the first for Slover and fifth total MW Player of the Week honor for the 'Dogs this season. Fresno State has received two Offensive Player of the Week honors and has received the defensive award three times.
The Visalia native led the team with 4.25 kills per set and was second with 3.25 digs per set with two double-doubles during the week. She has posted double-digit kills in 10 straight matches and now has 13 double-doubles this year, the most for a Bulldog since the 2014 season
On Thursday, Slover posted her fourth 20-kill match of the season with 20 kills and 13 digs in a narrow 3-2 loss to Boise State. She hit .310 with 14 kills in only 29 swings and 13 digs in just three sets against Utah State on Saturday, leading the 'Dogs to a sweep.
Slover also tallied three blocks, two assists, and a service ace while leading the team with 4.56 points per set for the week. She has recorded double-digit kills in 23 of 26 matches this season, doing so in 12 of 13 MW contests. She ranks third in the MW averaging 3.88 kills per set in conference play.
