Fresno State heads to NCAA Division I Cross Country West Regional

Women's 6K to begin at 11 a.m. PT at Haggin Oaks in Sacramento.
FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's cross country will head back to Sacramento on Friday to compete in the NCAA Division I West Regional. They will return to Haggin Oaks for the second time this season after competing in the Sac State Capital Cross Challenge on Sept. 29.

Racing for the Bulldogs on Friday morning will be Sydney Fox, Isabella Haberman, Maureen Jordan, Ellie Leather, Sami Shields, Sara Stevens and Marlene Alcantar.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Fresno State finished ninth at the Mountain West Championships in San Diego two weeks ago. Sydney Fox paced the team once again with a 22:04.2. Heading into the championships, the freshman had been rounding into form, clocking the third-fastest time in program history with a 20:46.3 6K at the Bronco Invitational on Oct. 13. Sophomore Ellie Leather was just over a minute off of Fox's pace at the championships, finishing with a time of 23:25.3.
BULLDOGS ROSTER BREAKDOWN FOR 2018
The lone returners were Ellie Leather and Sami Shields. Joining them were seven new athletes which included senior Marlene Alcantar, sophomore Sara Stevens and freshmen Sydney Fox, Isabella Haberman, Sophie Jimenez, Maureen Jordan and Hannah Wilson.
