'Dogs fall to Bearcats on the road 14-8

PHILADEPHIA – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team fell 14-8 in a neutral site game against Binghamton, Sunday morning. The Bulldogs were led by junior Sarah Bloise who scored four goals in the match.

"We played strong throughout the game, but we need to capitalize on opportunities," said head coach Jessica Giglio. "Valuing our possessions is something we will be addressing this week before our home opener on Friday."Â
Bloise, Kayla Galet, Marina Mayo, Tiffiny Wallace, Ryleigh Bone, Lauren Kiszely, Olivia Mannon, Alex Romanowski, Mackenzie Wallevand, Abigail Bergevin and Kennedy Mulvaney chalked the start for the 'Dogs, with Laurel Maunder in the box.

FIRST HALF
Both teams started the game firing on offense.

Bone opened up scoring to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead with 18:56 left in the half. The 'Dogs and the Bearcats exchanged goals to make it 2-1 with 17:56 left in the half.

Binghamton went on a 3-0 run, taking a 4-2 lead over Fresno State with 13:23 left in the half.

Mayo put the 'Dogs within one with 11:31 left in the half, but the Bearcats quickly struck to keep their two-goal lead.

Fresno State finished the half with a goal from Bloise with 30 seconds left. 'Dogs were down 5-4 at halftime.

SECOND HALF
The Bearcats came out of the huddle with urgency, scoring back-to back goals to take a 7-4 lead.

Bloise found the back of the net with 24:52 left, making it a 7-5 game. Binghamton quickly responded with a goal to extend its lead.

Wallevand scored in her second straight match, to put the 'Dogs within two with 23:42 left in the match.

The Bearcats went on a 3-0 run over eight minutes, taking a 11-6 lead.

Bloise went to work, scoring back-to-back goals for Fresno State. She put the 'Dogs within three (11-8) with nine minutes left to play.

Binghamton finished the game on a 3-0 run, defeating Fresno State 14-8.
