SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Sophomore Serena Sedillo broke the 3-meter program scoring record in conference championship meets and freshman Zofia Niemczak broke the 20 year old program record in the 500 freestyle to lead Fresno State on the second day of competition at the Mountain West Championship.

Three Bulldog divers scored big points on 3-meter after a solid showing on 1-meter on Wednesday. With some of Fresno State's best events to come Friday and even more to come on Saturday the 'Dogs sit in 10th place through two days of competition.

Diving Highlights
- In a field of 35, Fresno State's three divers all finished in the top 15 in the prelims on 3-meter.
- Sedillo qualified for the final, placing 7th overall with a score of 279.24. Kelli Funk was 13th at 257.37 and Irina Nikolaeva placed 15th, scoring 252.96.
- In the final, Sedillo moved up to third place with her score of 329.10, shattering the previous 3-meter program championship record score of 314.91 set by Hannah Prigge in 2014. Her third place finish was the highest on 3-meter for the program since joining the Mountain West.
- Funk and Nikolaeva also competed in the consolation final, with Funk placing fifth and Nikolaeva taking eighth place as the three divers combined to earn the team 52 points.
- After helping the 'Dogs break two team relay records on Wednesday night, Niemczak broke the program 500 Free record in Thursday's preliminary round, touching in 4:51.80 to break the Fresno State record of 4:53.37 set by Nicole Brushey in 1998. Niemczak topped her own mark in the B final in 4:51.54 to finish fourth in the heat and 12th overall. In four swims at the conference meet Niemczak has broken school records in each of them as a true freshman.
- Lucy Davies and Manuela Mendolicchio both qualified for the C final in the 200 IM. Davies had a team season-best time of 2:04.23 in the prelims while Mendolicchio went 2:04.39. In the C final, Davies placed fourth and Mendolicchio was sixth as both earned points.
- In the 50 Free, junior Osianna Mcreed made the B final after posting a career and team-season best time of 23.17 in the prelims. She moved up a spot in the finals, placing fifth in her heat and 13th overall.
- The lone team event on Thursday was the 200 Free Relay, and the Bulldog quartet of McReed, Kimberly Harbert, Emily Cutler, and Katelin Britton posted a season-best time of 1:33.13 to place ninth.Â

What's Next
- Friday's schedule includes the 400 IM, 200 Free, and 100 Fly, Breast, and Back as well as the 400 Medley Relay. There are no diving events as the platform competition will take place on Saturday. Prelims on Friday begin at 9 a.m. Pacific time and finals get underway at 4:30 p.m. Pacific.
