Six Bulldogs pick up All-MPSF honors

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team received eight Mountain Pacific Sports Federation postseason awards, the most in program history. The Bulldogs chalked their first-ever MPSF Rookie of the Year in Mackenzie Wallevand and tallied six All-MPSF Team honorees, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Wallevand, Sarah Bloise, Tiffiny Wallace, Marina Mayo, Olivia Mannon and Hannah Krats represented the Bulldogs on the 2018 All-MPSF Team.
"I am extremely pleased with our representation in the MPSF postseason awards," said head coach Jessica Giglio. "A lot of our student-athletes were not only statistical leaders in our conference but across the NCAA."
Wallevand was named the 2018 MPSF Rookie of the Year after an impressive freshman season with the Bulldogs. She is Fresno State's first MPSF Rookie of the Year in program history. The Santa Margarita, Calif. native finished her debut season with 19 goals, 10 assists 29 points, 50 draw controls 15 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. She scored in 12 games, and recorded multiple goals in six games. The newcomer had four games with five or more draw controls, including a career-high seven draw controls. Wallevand's 50 draw controls is the third-most in single-season in the Fresno State program record book. She also moves into seventh on the Draw Control All-Time Career Leaders list after just one season with the Bulldogs.Â
Wallevand recorded more goals, assists, draw controls, points and game-winning goals than any other MPSF freshman this season. Among other division I freshman, she ranked No. 26 in draw controls per game.
"I am proud of how Mackenzie battled all season." Said Giglio. "She played an important role at the midfield. She came up with a lot of draw controls and made big plays that helped contribute to our wins. I'm looking forward to her continues success at Fresno State in her seasons to come."

- Bloise led the team in goals (39), assists (20), points (59), shots (83) and shots on goal (62).
- After this season, Bloise is now the program's All-Time Career Leader in points, goals, assists, assists per game and shot attempts.
- Bloise led the MPSF in points, goals, shots and free position goals.
- Bloise set a new school record for most shots in a single-season.
- Bloise finished the season ranked within the top 100 nationally in free position goals per game (No. 9), free position percentage (No. 12), points (No. 66), goals (No. 91) and assists (96).
- This is Bloise's second All-MPSF Team accolade of her career.
- Wallace was second on the team in goals (36), assists (17) and points (53).
- In the MPSF, Wallace had the best shot on goal percentage (.816). She ranked second in points and shots, behind Bloise. She was third in goals and fourth in assists.
- Wallace is the program's All-Time Career Leader in goals per game.
- Wallace finished the season second on the program's All-Time Career list in points, goals and assists per game.
- Wallace recorded six hat tricks on the year, and led the Bulldogs in scoring in five games this season.
- This is Wallace's second All-MPSF Team accolade of her career.
- Mayo was third on the team in goals (28) and points (35).
- Mayo ranked sixth in the MPSF in total ground balls (26) and seventh in goals.
- Mayo scored in 13 games for the Bulldogs this season, and scored multiple goals in seven game.
- Mayo notched a career-high five goals against Cal, securing a 14-13 victory for Fresno State.
OLIVIA MANNON, SO., DEFENDER
- Despite missing the last five games of the season due to injury, Mannon set a new Fresno State program record for most draw controls in a single-season with 64.
- After her last game (March 29), Mannon was nationally ranked No. 23 in caused turnovers per game, No. 28 in draw controls per game and No. 98 in ground balls per game.
- In the MPSF, Mannon finished the season ranked No. 1 in caused turnovers, No. 2 in draw controls and No. 5 ground balls (playing in five fewer games).
- Mannon is now second in the program's record book in most ground balls in a single-season and most caused turnovers in a single-season.
HANNAH KRATS, FR., DEFENDER
- Krats ranked second in MPSF in ground balls (31) and third in caused turnovers (20).
- Krats set a new Fresno State program record for most ground balls in a single season with a team-best 31.
- Krats recorded at least one draw control in 13 games, and recorded at least one caused turnover in 13 games.
- As a defender, Krats scored six goals and four assists from pushing fast breaks off the draw control.
