FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team had 12 student-athletes earn 2018 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic honors.
The Bulldogs led the conference with 12 selections. UC Davis notched 10 selections and San Diego State had seven. 12 selections is the most selection Fresno State has chalked since 2011, when the Bulldogs had 13 All-Academic honorees.
"I am extremely proud for the hard work our athletes put in on and off the field," said head coach Jessica Giglio. "They are the student portion of student athletes first and foremost and that's something that we stress here. To have the most selections along with the top 5 grade point averages in the conference with majors like nursing and political science shows you the extent of their hard work."
To be nominated, student-athletes must have a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, must be at least a sophomore academically, must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received, and must have competed in 50 percent or more of the institution's competition.
