FRESNO, Calif. – After completing her inaugural season in the Valley, Fresno State water polo head coach Natalie Benson will continue her busy 2018 at three international tournaments with the USA Women's Senior National Team this summer.
Her tour begins with the FINA World League Super Final in Kunshan, China (May 28-June 2), where she will get to work alongside accomplished head coach Adam Krikorian and Cal assistant Chris Lee. The USA roster is headlined by Olympians Ashleigh Johnson, Melissa Seidemann, Rachel Fattal, Maggie Steffens and Kiley Neushul.
"The Senior National Team is the highest level of competition, and I will have the opportunity to work with Olympic Champions and aspiring Olympians during this time," said Benson. "It will be a tremendous opportunity to continue to learn and grow from a staff of dynamic leaders."
After China, Benson will head to Budapest, Hungary for the Vodafone Cup on June 25-29 before concluding her summer at the Dutch Trophy in Rotterdam, Netherlands on June 30-July 6.
"International competition at this level can teach you so much about the intricacies of the game, and remind you of what is possible in our sport," said Benson.
Spending so much time around the best players and water polo minds in the world is only going to help Fresno State's head coach shape her young Bulldog squad into a competitive team for years to come.
