Lacrosse Scores IWLCA Academic Honors

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team was selected as one of the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads, the association announced Tuesday. The Bulldogs also had four student-athletes earn 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll honors.
"I am very proud of this team for their continued commitment to success on and off the field," said head coach Jessica Giglio.
The IWLCA named 339 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
Fresno State was named a 2018 IWLCA Honor Squad after the team recorded an overall 3.49 GPA. Fresno State has been an IWLCA Honor Squad four out of the past five seasons (2018, 2017, 2015, 2014)
Natalie Chaffin, Naydy Hernandez, Emily Lackey and Angela Saladino were named to the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.
The IWLCA honored 462 student-athletes from 105 different institutions on the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.Â
Seniors Chaffin and Hernandez locked in their second consecutive IWLCA Honor Roll accolades. Chaffin owns a 3.791 GPA, majoring in nursing. Hernandez logged 3.581 GPA while majoring in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. Lackey graduated with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance this spring, as a junior, posting a 3.608 GPA. Saladino finished her junior year with a 3.527 GPA, majoring in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.
