Fresno State finishes day one of Chick-Fil-A Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's swimming and diving team finished the first day of the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in third place with two of three sessions completed, on Friday afternoon in the Aquatics Center.

The Bulldogs' season-opening meet was highlighted by the 200 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay.

Through 11 events, Cal sits in first with 812.5 points, San Diego State in second with 537.5 and Fresno State rounding out the top three with 268.5. Ahead of Washington State (248.5), New Mexico (240) and San Jose State (148).

Day 1

Fresno State's 400 freestyle team (Clayson, Moers, Harbert, Cutler)
Fresno State's 800 freestyle team (Khisiamova, Cutler, Clayson, Johnson) finished 4^th out of 14 teams with a time of 7.41.62.
Freshman Darina Khisiamova took fifth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.10.
Freshman Yuliya Tikhaya finished fourth in the 3-meter with a score of 243.20.
Fresno State, Cal, New Mexico and San Diego State were the only schools that had divers compete.

The second day of the Chick-Fil-A Invitational with begin at 10 a.m. PT tomorrow. The teams will finish the weekend with the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 800 freestyle.
