The Fresno State men’s basketball team has added a road game at San Diego on Nov. 12, plus a home exhibition on Oct. 30 and another nonconference home game on Nov. 17. Season tickets start at $149.
FRESNO, Calif. – With the excitement continuing to build toward the start of the 2019-20 Fresno State men's basketball season, the Bulldogs' schedule for the upcoming year now includes a road game at 2019 West Coast Conference semifinalist San Diego on Nov. 12.
Â
Fresno State is 9-1 all-time against San Diego, which includes a 3-0 record in true road games at USD. This will be the first meeting between the Bulldogs and Toreros since a 74-70 road victory by Fresno State over San Diego on Dec. 7, 2010. Two of the last three meetings were decided by four or fewer points.
Â
With the final completion of the game contract with the Toreros, which also includes a game at the Save Mart Center between the programs during the 2020-21 season, Fresno State is also able to announce an Oct. 30 home exhibition versus Dominican and a Nov. 17 nonconference home game against CSUSB.
The Bulldogs also recently added a Dec. 20 home game against IUPUI to a now 29-game schedule for the 2019-20 season.
Â
Also on Thursday, Fresno State learned its opponent for next season's inaugural year of the Mountain West-Atlantic 10 Challenge Series with the Bulldogs drawing George Mason, who made a memorable Cinderella run to the 2006 Final Four, for a home game on Dec. 5, 2020 at the Save Mart Center.
Â
This will be the second all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and Patriots, with Fresno State defeating George Mason 79-73 on Nov. 22, 2017 at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in the third-place game of the Cancun Challenge.
The two conferences will play 10 games each season, with each league hosting five games per year. Games in the first year of the Mountain West-Atlantic 10 Challenge Series will be held in all four continental U.S. time zones, spanning from coast to coast.  Matchups for each year are determined by the league offices based on a number of factors, including the previous year's records, NET rankings and team achievements, as well as projected rankings and anticipated strength of teams for the upcoming season. All 10 games in 2020 will be played during the first week of December, with television and digital rights residing with the host conference.  Announced in December of 2018, the Mountain West-Atlantic 10 Challenge Series, is a scheduling partnership that covers the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, with an option to extend the partnership for an additional two years, into the 2023-24 season.
