Two Bulldogs score Top 10 finishes

Fresno State’s Michael Cliff and Kevin Huff both finished in the Top 10 of the 2019 Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
STOCKTON, Calif. – Fresno State junior Michael Cliff continued his strong fall campaign with a tie for fifth-place in the 94-man field of the 2019 Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, which was held for the past three days at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
Cliff, who entered the week with the 13th-best scoring average in the country (out of 6,003 players), delivered two more rounds in the sixties en route to posting a 6-under-par 210 (69-67-74) on the 7,315-yard, par-72 course in Northern California.
Cliff (Fresno, Calif./Fresno Christian High School) has been in the Top 20 in each of the Bulldogs' first four fall tournaments, including three finishes in the Top 10.
Along with another impressive showing by Cliff, the Bulldogs were lifted by junior Kevin Huff (El Dorado Hills, Calif.), who finished tied for tenth for his first Top 10 performance this season. Huff was 3-under-par (75-68-70=213) in the three-round competition this week.
Fresno State's Matthew Sutherland closed to a tie for 34th (+2), while Tommy Stephenson was tied for 57th (+7). As a team, the Bulldogs finished seventh out of 16 squads for their third finish in the top half of a field so far this fall.
Fresno State will wrap up its fall tournament schedule when the Bulldogs travel to the coast for the Saint Mary's Invitational, which will be held Nov. 4-6 in Pebble Beach at Poppy Hills Golf Course.
