Night of Champions Release
FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State senior outside hitter Taylor Slover was selected as the 2018-19 recipient of the female Club Red Bulldog Spirt Award, presented at the annual Fresno State Night of Champions gala at the Save Mart Center last week.
Â
The Bulldog Spirit Award was one of eight individual awards presented at the banquet. The award recognizes one male and one female student-athlete for the way they fully embrace being a Bulldog. The person leads their team in the way of showing unwavering support to their teammates, the athletic department, and the University. The nominees are also dedicated in the classroom and are involved in community service.
Â
A valley native from Visalia, Slover was an All-Mountain West selection and All-Mountain West scholar-athlete who has been heavily involved in community service throughout her time as a Bulldog. She has been a positive and encouraging leader for the team throughout her outstanding career and always attends other Fresno State sport events to support her fellow Bulldogs.
Â
The Fresno State Strength and Conditioning staff also recognized one student-athlete per team with the Bulldog Strength award during the gala and junior setter Madelyn Halteman was the recipient for the volleyball team. The award was given to the student-athletes that push themselves and their teammates to their full potential in the weight room with passion, humility, leadership, attitude, and work ethic.
