FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State lacrosse head coach Jessica Giglio announced the addition of freshman goalkeeper Delaney Brannon to the 2020 roster on Wednesday. Brannon, an Orlando, Fla. native, is the 10th freshman addition to the Bulldogs' squad for the upcoming season.Â
Â
Brannon joins attackers Sarah Watts, Portia Card, Bailey Truex and Katelyn Trainor; midfielders Hennessey Evans, Emerson Johnson and Danielle Westerman; and defenders Katie Rice and Taylor Anders.Â
Â
The freshman goalkeeper comes to Fresno State as a decorated high school and club lacrosse player, being a four-year varsity keeper at Saint John Paul II Academy and a five-year member of the Lady Swashbucklers club lacrosse team.Â
Â
While under head coach Jeff Atkins at Saint John Paul II Academy, Brannon had a 58 percent save percentage with 394 career saves and a 32-15 varsity record.Â
Â
Brannon was named to the All-District second team as a goalkeeper in 2018 and 2019. She was also an All-Area and All-County honorable mention candidate those seasons.Â
Â
"I chose Fresno State because of the amazing atmosphere and how big the school was, and the change of scenery from Florida and my small high school," said Brannon. "I am really excited to be coached by such respected athletes in the lacrosse world and I'm looking forward to developing my skills and experiencing a higher level of competition."Â
