FRESNO, Calif. – Under the direction of first-year head coach Jason Drake, the Fresno State cross country teams open up the 2019 season on Saturday morning at the UC Riverside Invitational hosted at the UCR Ag/Ops Course.

BULLDOGS LINEUP
Racing on the women's side for the Bulldogs on Saturday morning will be Hailey Fernandez, Isabella Haberman, Jewel Jasso, Sophie Jimenez, Sara Stevens and Agita Svetere. The men's side will feature Matthew Founds, Jaden Uphoff, Josue Del Real, Alekos Mitchel, Sam Hawley and James Barrett.

NEW YEAR, NEW COACH
Jason Drake took over as the head coach of the Fresno State track and field and cross country programs on Aug. 21. With over 20-plus years as a distance coach at the Division I level at Washington, Washington State and Colorado, he will oversee the program's cross country teams this fall.

LOOKING AHEAD
Fresno State will be off until Sept. 28 before heading to Sacramento for the Sac State Capital Cross Challenge.
