Hall named senior associate athletic director for compliance and student-athlete services

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State director of athletics Terry Tumey announced on Friday that David Hall has been elevated to senior associate athletic director for compliance and student-athlete services. Hall has been at Fresno State since Jan. 2017 and also had a stint on staff from 2010-13.

Hall, who oversaw the compliance department when first arriving to Fresno State, has assumed additional responsibility with overseeing academics. In that role, he has implemented several positive changes including improved checks and balances of eligibility and APR, partnering with the learning center on campus to provide tutoring and supplemental instruction and the implementation of a mentoring program to help Fresno State student-athletes stay organized. He is also overseeing the launch of a career development program for current student-athletes.Â

Oversight of Student-Athlete Services & Compliance
- Restructured the Student-Athlete Services unit. Added two Learning Specialists.
- Implemented the Academic Mentor program.
- Partnered with the Learning Center on campus to enhance tutoring opportunities & supplemental instruction.
- Provided leadership and guidance to improve the certification process.
- Responsible for APR & GSR reporting.
- Provide oversight to the compliance staff.
- Liaison to the Enrollment Management units (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar).
- Strengthened NCAA rules education efforts within the department.
- Serves as the sport administrator for the men's tennis and women's soccer teams.

- Originally from the Central Valley.
- Graduated from Fresno State with a BA in Political Science.
- Earned a MA in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific with an emphasis in Sports Administration.
- Resides in Fresno with Wife Carlie, son Bennett, and daughter Madison.
