Fresno State drops road dual to UC Davis, 172-128

DAVIS, Calif. – The Fresno State swimming and diving team fell to UC Davis 172-128 on the road, on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs fall to 4-2 on the season.

Fresno State managed to take the top spot in seven events, and Irina Nikolaeva finished first on the 1-Meter.

Swimming Highlights:

In the 200-yard medley relay, Fresno State placed second (Clayson, Mendolicchio, Harbert, Cutler) with a time of 1:44.55.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, Fresno State's Darina Khisiamova placed first with a time of 10:13.04.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Megan Bowen took second place with a time of 1:54.72.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Athena Clayson came in first with a time of 56.81.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Fresno State took two of the top three spots. Manuela Mendolicchio took first with a time of 1:04.17 and Megan Ridenour took second with a time of 1:05.98.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Fresno State's Kimberly Harbert finished first with a time of 2:03.32.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Anna Moers placed second with a time of 24.13.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Clayson took first place with a time of 2:01.54.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Mendolicchio took first place with a time of 2:17.59.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Khisiamova finished in first place with a time of 5:02.24.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Fresno State's Harbert placed second with a time of 56.39.
In the 200-yard IM, Mendolicchio placed second with a time of 2:07.47.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Fresno State took second place (Clayson, Harbert, Cutler, Moers) with a time of 3:32.80.

Diving Highlights:

In the 1 meter diving, Fresno State's Irina Nikolaeva took first with a score of 286.88.
In the 3 meter diving, Irina Nikolaeva placed third with a score of 251.55.

What's next – Fresno State will return home on Saturday, Feb. 1 for Senior Day at 12 p.m. PT at the Fresno State Aquatics Center. Admission to all Fresno State swimming and diving meets are free of charge.
