2019-20 (FRESHMAN): Finished 11th in the 100 Breast (1:03.09) & 16th in the 200 Breast (2:20.96) at the MW Championship ... took second in the 100 Breast vs. SJSU (Feb. 1) in a time of 1:05.26 ... earned Academic All-MW honors ... named Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
High School: Swam for coach Walter Bricker at Redwood HS ... CIF Central Section champion in the 100 Breast in 2019 in 1:04.24 ... holds school records in the 100 Breast, 200 Free Relay, and 200 Medley relay ... was team MVP as a freshman ... reached the CIF state meet ... also swam for Tule Nation Tritons for six years ... made the Winter Junior Nationals cut in the 100 Breast
Personal: Parents are Donnie and Lucina Fernandez ... has an older brother, Matthew, and a younger brother, Sean ... enjoys singing and skateboarding ... can play the ukulele ... had a 4.20 high school GPA ... chose Fresno State because the team atmosphere was phenomenal. The staff and coaches were very straightforward with any questions she had. Fresno State is also close to home ... majoring in nursing
