The Fresno State men’s basketball team’s Nov. 25 season opener will be broadcast on local television.
FRESNO, Calif. – A Thanksgiving Eve treat will be served up on Fresno-area televisions this week.
The Fresno State men's basketball team tips off the 2020-21 campaign with a Wednesday matinee against the Warriors of William Jessup University (Rocklin, Calif./NAIA) at the Save Mart Center, which will be broadcast live Over the Air (OTA/Antenna) on MyTV53 in the San Joaquin Valley with a simulcast available on the Mountain West Network. Broadcast information for how to watch locally on cable and satellite television providers in the Fresno-Visalia Designated Market Area (DMA) will be shared in the coming days.
Pre-game coverage will begin on Wednesday at 3 p.m. PT, leading up to the 3:07 p.m. PT tip off in the first-ever meeting between the programs separated by less than 200 miles.
Local broadcast favorites Ralph Wood and Matt Norville will be on the call, with Gabe Camarillo joining the team as the sideline reporter.
The Bulldogs feature the return of Orlando Robinson (12.2 ppg/6.6 rpg) – the 7-foot rising sophomore phenom from Las Vegas who started all 30 games for Fresno State last season.
With 10 new additions and four returners from last year's rotation, Fresno State head coach and Valley native Justin Hutson has been preparing his team for the upcoming season – both in-person and virtually when needed. Due to current state guidelines, fans are not able to attend home games at the Save Mart Center during the 2020-21 season.
"We are excited to partner with MyTV53 to bring the home opener to the Red Wave," said Zachary Fraser, general manager of Bulldog Sports Properties, the entity that manages the broadcast and multimedia rights for Fresno State athletics.
A full local broadcast schedule for the 2020-21 season is being finalized and will be released at a later date.
