Fresno State & San Jose State: All-Time Series History
Since San Jose State joined the Mountain West in 2013, Fresno State is 10-2 against the Spartans and the Bulldogs have won its last two road games at The Event Center. Fresno State is 3-0 against SJSU in head coach Justin Hutson's tenure, which includes a 79-64 victory over the Spartans back on Jan. 4 in Fresno at the Save Mart Center. Last season, the Bulldogs beat San Jose State 73-53 on the road on Jan. 2, 2019 and then added a 121-81 win over SJSU in both teams' regular season finale on March 9, 2019.

Wiliams ties records in Bulldogs' 79-64 win over Spartans
Fresno State fifth-year senior guard New Williams scored a career-high 32 points while tying a program and Mountain West record with 10 made 3-point field goals to lead the Bulldogs to a 79-64 win over San Jose State on Jan. 4. Williams is now one of four players in MW history with 10 made 3-point field goals in a single game, joining a group that includes Jeff Elorriga (Boise State), Braxton Huggins (Fresno State) and Kendall Williams (New Mexico), who each made 10 3-pointers in a game during their MW careers. Williams also had four assists (no turnovers), three rebounds and two steals in the 15-point win against SJSU.

Fresno State leads the league with freshmen averaging 100.4 minutes per game, which is nearly half of the Bulldogs' minutes per game average (49.2 percent). Fresno State's freshmen have accounted for 2,410 of the team's 4,900 total minutes played (49.2 percent) this season. Fresno State freshmen Orlando Robinson (13.1 ppg) and Jarred Hyder (9.3 ppg) lead the way for Fresno State's now six freshmen, who have scored 783 of the Bulldogs' 1,652 points for an average of 32.7 points of the team's 68.8 points per game (47.4 percent). Robinson is the only Bulldog to play in all 24 games this season. Three different freshmen have scored at least 25 points in a game this season: Niven Hart (29 points: 2/4), Hyder (26 points: 11/10) and Robinson (27 points: 12/28).

Grimes, Williams on 3X3U Midseason Watch List
Fresno State seniors Nate Grimes and New Williams were named to the 2020 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship Midseason Watch List, Intersport announced on Feb. 4. Grimes and Williams are two of the 10 MW student-athletes currently under consideration to play for the four-man Team Mountain West, who will compete against the other 31 conferences during the NCAA's Final Four weekend in Atlanta. Fresno State and Colorado State have each had a representative on the team in the first two years of the now annual competition, with former Bulldog guards Deshon Taylor (2019) and Jahmel Taylor (2018) playing in Minneapolis and San Antonio, respectively.
