'Dogs to host pair of doubleheaders

Fresno State hosts San Francisco and Bakersfield College on Saturday, and then Fresno City College twice on Sunday.
FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team is set to play two home doubleheaders this weekend at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
The 'Dogs will take on San Francisco at 10 a.m. PT and Bakersfield College at 5 p.m. PT on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Then the following day, Sunday, Feb. 16, Fresno State will compete against Fresno City College at 2 p.m. PT and 4 p.m. PT in back-to-back matches.
The team currently sits 2-3 on the season after an exciting 4-3 road win against the BYU Cougars. The 'Dogs responded from a slow start and won four straight singles points in the end to clinch the victory.

The Bulldogs return two All-Mountain West performers from last season in now sophomore Shir Azran (2019 All-MW Singles Team) and senior Georgia Lawson (Three-Time All-MW Doubles Team honoree), along with junior Alessia Dario (Francenigo, Italy) and sophomores Jane Ellis (Fresno, Calif.), A.C. Hummel (Bissingen, Germany), Ella Husrefovic (Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia) and Deniza Marcinkevica (Riga, Latvia).
Fresno State is also welcoming a new addition to the team's roster in freshman Carlotta Nonnis Marzano (Parma, Italy), who joined the team prior to the start of the 2020 spring season.
During the 2019 fall semester, Azran, Lawson and Hummel each earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages and the program recorded a department-best 3.83 team grade point average.
