Â
To receive the Scholar All-America distinction, teams are required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The CSCAA is expected to announce its individual Scholar All-Americans in July.
Fleck named to CSCAA Board of Directors
Fresno State head coach Jeanne Fleck has been elected to the CSCAA Board of Directors as a women's team representative.
Fleck is one of five new additions to the board, which also includes former Fresno State head coach and current Cal coach Teri McKeever (1988-92) as a continuing at-large member. Utah head coach Joe Dykstra will be the association's president for the next two years.
The new selections will tackle a range of efforts on behalf of the CSCAA, including building on the association's widely successful national mentoring program that has been spearheaded by Fleck.
"We seem to have many assistants who are women but lose them very quickly," Fleck said. "I do not have an answer to this problem at all, but would like to help bridge this gap and keep women in the profession longer."
The CSCAA Board of Directors provides strategic oversight of the association in its efforts to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
