Fresno State boasts record 113 MW Scholar-Athlete honorees for 2019-20

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State shattered its previous program record on Tuesday with 113 student-athletes earning Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2019-20 academic year, announced by the conference. The 'Dogs new record surpasses 84 selections, which was set just last year.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in at least one varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
The women's track and field, and women's swimming and diving teams led the way for the 'Dogs for the second consecutive year. Both notched a department-best 11 apiece for the 2018-19 season, this year the women's track and field team had 17 while the women's swimming and diving team owned 15. Of the 113 student-athletes honored, 26 held 4.0 GPAs (identified with asterisk below).
