Fresno State’s Matthew Sutherland tied for fifth in the 90-player field competing in the 2021 Visit Stockton Invitational.

STOCKTON, Calif. – Fresno State sophomore Matthew Sutherland surged into a tie for fifth in the 2021 Visit Stockton Invitational at Stockton Golf & Country Club.

Sutherland entered the final round in a tie for 16th before carding a 66 on Saturday in a round that featured seven birdies.

In the team competition, Fresno State finished in eighth place in the 15-team, 90-player field.

Next up: Fresno State will wrap up its fall slate of tournaments with a trip to Pebble Beach for the Saint Mary's Invitational, which will be held Nov. 8-10 at Poppy Hills Golf Course.Â
