The Bulldog women's golf team had its best finish of the season behind a record-low round.
BOULDER CREEK, Nev. - The Fresno State women's golf team completed its fall schedule with a big runner-up finish at the Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by NAU at the Boulder Creek Golf Club this week. The Bulldogs had their best finish of the season so far behind record-breaking performances.
As a team, Fresno State tied its program-low round with a 279 on Tuesday, propelling it up the leaderboards for its second place finish. Fresno State shot 16-over 880 (293-308-279). The Bulldogs wrap up the fall slate with back-to-back Top 5 finishes under first-year head coach Lisa Ferrero.
Freshman Yu Shang had the best outing of her collegiate career, finishing T5th with a 2-over-par 218 (77-75-66). Shang shot a 6-under-par 66 in Tuesday's final round, tying the program's second lowest one-round total. The freshman Bulldog is now one of just four Bulldogs to hit that score in program history.
Joining Shang in the Top 10 was senior Harriet Lynch. After falling in the leaderboards on Monday, Lynch bounced back with a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to push her into the Top 10 with a T8th finish. Lynch was 3-over-par in the tournament, shooting 219 (72-78-69).
Senior Jessica Hall finished tied for 25th with a 7-over-par 223 (74-76-73). Sophomore Nicola Kaminski shot under par on Tuesday, using a 1-under 71 to jump her to T36th through the final round. Kaminski finished with a 10-over 226 (73-82-71).
Sophomore Lydia Volkmer finished tied for 43rd with an 11-over 227 (74-79-74).
Participating in the tournament as an individual, Delana Basanisi finished T68 with a 18-over-par 234 (79-75-80).

- Freshman Yu Shang had the program's second-lowest one-round total by an individual with her 66 on Tuesday. Shang joins Brigitte Thibault, Louisa Lies, and Harriet Lynch as the only Bulldogs to shoot a 66 in program history.
- Shang had the lowest score by any golfer in the field on Tuesday (-6).
