'Dogs sweep Wolf Pack in Reno

The Breakdown
RENO, Nev. - The Fresno State volleyball team rallied back in each set on Thursday evening to complete a sweep over Nevada at the Virginia Street Gym.
Fresno State (10-9, 6-5 MW) won sets, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 against Nevada (3-20, 0-12 MW).
How It Happened
Set one saw the 'Dogs fall behind early trailing 15-12 at the media timeout. Coming out of the break, the Wolf Pack continued to lead by three at 18-15 before a 4-0 run gave the Bulldogs only their second lead of the set. A kill by Desiree Sukhov followed by back-to-back blocks pushed the 'Dogs lead to three and after Nevada trimmed it to one at 24-23, a kill by Ella Rud sealed the 'Dogs set win.
Set two saw the Wolf Pack jump out to a 12-5 lead before the 'Dogs ripped off seven straight points to even the set at 12. With blocks by Doyle and Savanah Smith tying the set at 17, the 'Dogs again fought tough to even the set at 19, 20 & 21 before a setting error by Nevada and a solo block by Kasey Purry gave the 'Dogs a 23-21 lead. The Wolf Pack again got within one at 24-23, but a service error by Nevada put the 'Dogs up 2-0.
The third and final set saw Nevada take a lead, this time leading 19-15, before the 'Dogs ripped off six straight points capped by a block from Doyle to force a Wolf Pack timeout. A kill by Doyle put the Bulldogs up two and an error by Nevada & a kill from Amaria Kelley completed the sweep.

The 'Dogs close out the week traveling to San Jose State (14-7, 8-3 MW) on Saturday at 7 p.m. PT.
