Robinson excited for third chapter

Fresno State’s Orlando Robinson is in his third season with the Bulldogs – focused on the details and excited for every opportunity to compete with his teammates.
The Breakdown
FRESNO, Calif. – In his first two seasons at Fresno State, Orlando Robinson has been a dominant presence for the Bulldogs.
Robinson is not shy when sharing his aspirations and goals, which are all rooted in winning and consistency – whether it's averaging a double-double, being the defensive player of the year or MVP of the conference, while preparing for a career in the NBA.
"There are a lot of things we can do as a team, but individually, I want to pursue those goals because I feel like those will really help my team win and put us in the position to be very successful," Robinson said.
Thriving Athletically and Academically
For Robinson, his work ethic and approach have translated across many aspects of his life, including thriving academically as a communication major at Fresno State.
"Orlando – he works really hard and he's just a terrific young man," Fresno State head coach Justin Hutson said of Robinson. "Not only does he work hard on the floor, he works hard in the classroom."
Robinson earned 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 and Mountain West Scholar Athlete honors, while also being named second team All-MW and NABC All-District 17. He was one of eight Bulldogs to earn Academic All-MW honors in 2020-21 – a single-season record for the program.
Building toward November
As Robinson and the Bulldogs build toward November with fall practice officially underway, the team is coming together and attacking each challenge as a unit.
"The camaraderie between us is very well put together," Robinson said. "I didn't know most of my teammates last year but now that I've spent time with them and played with them, grinded with them, and endured so much with them, I've grown to love them and they're my teammates and my brothers."
The Fresno State men's basketball team will host Stanislaus State in a Nov. 3 exhibition game at the Save Mart Center, and then open the regular season with three straight home games – beginning with Fresno Pacific on Nov. 9.
"I enjoy Fresno State – I love everything about it," Robinson said. "The fans, people, my coaches, even my trainers. I love everybody here, so just being around that is just amazing to me."
