LAS VEGAS -Â The Fresno State volleyball team fell in straight sets at UNLV on Saturday afternoon at Cox Pavilion.
Fresno State (7-7, 3-3 MW) dropped sets 13-25, 19-25, 23-25 to UNLV (14-3, 5-1 MW).
How It Happened
With set one going the Rebels way from the start, set two saw a 12-12 draw after a solo block by Savanah Smith. A 7-2 run by UNLV put the home team up 19-14 and the 'Dogs were unable to get within four for the rest of the set.
Another 12-12 draw in the third set saw the Rebels again surge ahead to take a lead a 19-17 lead, but kills from Smith and Amaria Kelley tied the set at 19. A solo block by Grace Doyle put the Bulldogs up one and a kill by Kelley kept the 'Dogs ahead by one at 23-22. It was all UNLV from there as the Rebels scored the final three points to complete the sweep.
Up next
The Bulldogs return home to host San Jose State (9-7, 3-3 MW) on Thursday and Nevada (3-14, 0-6 MW) on Sunday.
