Water Polo releases 2022 schedule

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State water polo team released its 2022 competition schedule. Coming off a Golden Coast Conference Championship and first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, the Bulldogs are set to play a 21-game schedule including eight games played at home in the Aquatics Center.

The Bulldogs will open the season at the Arizona State Tournament (Jan. 21-23). The tournament features five teams that finished the 2021 season ranked within the Top 10, including host Arizona State, Cal, Michigan and UC Irvine. The Bulldogs also finished the 2021 season within the Top 10, reaching the program's highest-ever ranking in the final poll at No. 10.

Fresno State will travel north to compete in the Cal Cup (Jan. 29-30). The Bulldogs will face another field of high-level opponents as all five teams in the tournament finished within the Top 15. Fresno State will see Cal for a second time as well as San Jose State, UC Davis and Long Beach state.

The Bulldogs will finish its 10-game road trip with a visit to defending national champion USC on Feb. 4, before stopping at the UCLA Mini Invitational on their way out of Los Angeles on Feb. 5.

Fresno State will host Biola University in its home opener on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. PT, launching a five-game homestand. The 'Dogs will host the 2022 Fresno State Invite (Feb. 19-20), hosting Fresno Pacific, Indiana, Long Beach State and San Jose State to round-out non-conference play.

Fresno State will host Santa Clara in its GCC opener on Feb. 26. The Bulldogs will also see visits from Pacific (March 26), CBU (April 1) and San Diego State (April 2) during conference play. Fresno State will travel to face Concordia (March 19) to break up the homestand before finishing the regular season at Azusa Pacific (April 8) and LMU (April 9).
