With a team that brought in six players, the Bulldogs have faced a difficult stretch of games to start the season. In their first six games they have played three teams which reached the 2021 NCAA Tournament (Utah Valley, BYU, Drexel) all away from home.
A continuing trend in recent years, Fresno State once again is one of the top team's in the country in turnovers per game. Committing 11.9 per contest, the Bulldogs ranks No. 11 in the NCAA. The 'Dogs finished each of the last two seasons ranked inside the Top 20.
Through the opening month of the season, reigning Mountain West Player of the Year, Haley Cavinder has taken her game to another level. The 5-foot-6 point guard is currently the only women's basketball player across all three NCAA divisions to average at least 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
