'Dogs lead wire-to-wire in win

FRESNO, Calif. – Following a 22-0 start, Fresno State cruised to its largest win since 2019, defeating UC Merced 81-29 on Saturday afternoon at the Save Mart Center.
Amiee Book led all scorers with 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Hanna Cavinder joined her in double figures, scoring 16 points. All 12 Bulldogs who saw the court scored on the day.
How It Happened
Fresno State got off to its best start in game this season, making six of their first seven shots. The 'Dogs went up 22-0 before UC Merced on the scoreboard with 1:12 on the clock in the first quarter. Leading by 23 after one, the Bulldogs went on a 7-0 run to the second. Leading 30-4, Fresno State went on to hold UC Merced to 6.9 percent shooting in the first half as the Bulldogs led 45-10 after 20 minutes.
Fresno State outscored the Bobcats 36-19 in the second half, finishing the game shooting 46.8 percent from the field.
